Hambone Willie Newbern (1899-1947) Blues musician from the Brownsville, Tennessee area along Tennessee State Route 19. He is said to have played with Yank Rachell and Sleepy John Estes in the 1920s and '30s. He recorded one of the earliest known versions of the blues standard "Rollin' and Tumblin'" in 1929. Newbern was beaten to death in a prison brawl, around 1947 Hambone Willie Newbern

Alice in Wonderland (1903), is a British silent film directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow, it was the first movie adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

The film is memorable for its use of special effects, including Alice's shrinking in the Hall of Many Doors, and in her large size, stuck inside of White Rabbit's home, reaching for help through a window.

Only one copy of the film is known to exist with a running time of just 12 minutes (8 of which survive). The British Film Institute has partially restored the movie and its original film tinting on February 24, 2010.

Libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on the novella of the same title by Prosper Mérimée, first published in 1845. Adapted from the narrative poem The Gypsies (1824) by Alexander Pushkin. Mérimée had read the poem in Russian by 1840 and translated it into French in 1852.
