"Lakehurst, NJ: Thirty-five persons die and scores of others are injured as the mighty dirigible explodes three hundred feet over the landing field at the end of her first voyage of the season from Europe. A terrific burst of flame engulfs the stern of the ship and spreads with the rapidity of lightning to the bow. The inferno of blazing hydrogen gas cremates all living beings in its path, as the twisted skeleton of the balloon settles quickly to the ground. Universal City Studios gifted Universal Newsreel to the American people, put the newsreels into the public domain, and gave film materials to the National Archives in 1976. Surviving materials from the entire collection are available at the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, Maryland.

The Annual Columbus Day Parade has been organized in New York since 1929.

The Tarantella refers to different southern Italian couple folk dances characterized by an upbeat tempo, usually in 6/8 time, accompanied by tambourines. It is among the most recognized of traditional Italian music. The specific dance name varies with every region, tammuriata in Campania, pizzica in the Salento region.

The term tarantella originally referred to an exorcism ritual in Greece from around 2000 BC, connected to the gods Dionysus and Apollo, the Greek gods of wine and music. It continued on in southern Italy, an area then known as Magna Grecia greater Greece.

Birth of a Nation premiered with the title "The Clansman" is a 1915 American silent film directed by D. W. Griffith. Set during and after the American Civil War, the film was based on Thomas Dixon's The Clansman, a novel and play.

It was the highest-grossing film of the silent film era, and is noted for its camera techniques and narrative.

It has provoked controversy for promoting white supremacy and positively portraying the "knights" of the Ku Klux Klan as heroes.

Many, most, trailers for movies released before 1964 are in the Public Domain because they were never separately copyrighted. The law at the time granted the owner 28 years to file a copyright registration. The trailer is published (run in a theater) before the movie itself is published. Robert John Burck aka The Naked Cowboy, 39 announced his intention to run for president in 2012 as a member of the conservative Tea Party movement, "the only legitimate grassroots movement". Mr. Burck saying he'd run under a Tea Party platform, is registered as a Republican in Ohio.

Robert says his policies would include closing the borders, making drug tests for welfare recipients mandatory, abolishing unions for government workers, and reversing the recently passed health care law.

The words were written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, who had been inspired by the sight of the American flag still flying over Fort McHenry after a night of heavy British bombardment. The text was immediately set to a popular melody of the time, "To Anacreon in Heaven."

The tune is a popular British drinking song, written by John Stafford Smith (March 30, 1750 – September 21, 1836) for the Anacreontic Society, a London social club. "The Anacreontic Song". Smith wrote the tune in the mid-1760s, while still a teenager. It was first published by Longman & Broderip in London in 1778/1779.
